Frequently asked questions

Disability support
questions answered.

If you are wondering whether Driven Support could be suitable, these answers are a useful starting point. A conversation is always welcome.

Every support arrangement is considered individually. These answers are general information, not a promise of availability or suitability.

Are you accepting new participants?

Yes, Driven Support is currently accepting a limited number of new participants subject to location, availability and support requirements.

Can I use my NDIS funding with Driven Support?

Driven Support currently works with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. As an unregistered provider, we do not currently provide supports funded through the NDIA-managed/agency-managed portion of a participant's plan. Participants should confirm that a proposed support is appropriate to their individual plan, goals and available funding.

Are there supports Driven Support doesn't currently provide?

Yes. Driven Support is initially focused on standard community participation, confidence building and practical capacity-building supports. We do not initially provide high-intensity personal care, Supported Independent Living (SIL), overnight support, regulated restrictive practices, specialist behaviour support, complex clinical or medication supports, participant track driving, performance-driver instruction or safety-critical mechanical work. Where a participant's needs sit outside our current scope, we will be upfront about that.

Can I enquire about Sunday support?

Yes. Expressions of interest for selected Sunday support are welcome, subject to launch timing, location, suitability and available capacity.

What areas do you service?

Selected areas across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Gold Coast and surrounding SEQ.

Do participants have to be interested in cars?

No. Automotive and motorsport activities are a specialty of Driven Support, but support can be built around a wide range of interests and community activities.

What happens if an activity is cancelled or the weather changes?

Where possible, an alternative activity can be arranged. The priority is finding something suitable for the participant rather than forcing the original plan.

What if a participant finds motorsport environments too loud?

High-stimulation environments are not suitable for everyone. Noise, crowds and sensory preferences can be considered before activities are planned, and lower-stimulation alternatives can be selected.

Can a Support Coordinator make a referral?

Yes. Support Coordinators, participants, families and other relevant support people can make an enquiry or referral.

Do we have to know exactly what activity we want?

No. The initial conversation is designed to understand the participant’s interests and goals before deciding what support may look like.

Can family members contact you directly?

Yes. We welcome enquiries directly from participants, parents and family members.

What ages do you support?

We assess suitability individually based on support requirements, goals, and our capacity to provide safe, effective support. We invite you to enquire to discuss your specific situation.
